Thomas S. Saras, President and CEO of the National Ethnic Press and Media Council of Canada, based in Toronto, on Sunday, August 20, 2023, presented special awards of this non-governmental association to Mrs. Susan Crystal, the US Consul General in Toronto, and Nebojša Tatomir, to the Consul General of the Republic of Serbia.

 

The National Ethnic Press and Media Council is the print and broadcast media association of all ethnic groups in Canada. It represents members of Canada's foreign-language publications at the federal and provincial levels and, on behalf of its members, cares about fundamental issues such as national unity, equality among Canadians, respect for human rights, social justice, and social acceptance for every citizen or resident of Canada, as well as preserving and respecting the cultural heritage of all Canadians.

 

The Consuls General of the United States of America and the Republic of Serbia were awarded for outstanding support and assistance to members of the National Council for Ethnic Press and Media of Canada.
