On Sunday, September 4, 2022, a new Serbian center was opened at St. George's Church in Niagara, and Canadian Bishop Mitrofan consecrated it in the presence of more than 350 guests.

The center was built on church property in Niagara, and its construction lasted four years.

It was built thanks to donations from several families from this part of Ontario.

One of the most enthusiastic for the opening of the Serbian Center is the president of the Church and School Municipality "Sveti Đorđe" from Niagara, Aca Pantelić, who said that this is an extraordinary thing for the Serbian community and that there will also be two football fields, a tennis court, a basketball court, a field for bocce and that this center becomes a gathering place for all the Serbs of southern Ontario, of whom there are about 2,000 in Niagara.

In addition to the mayor of Niagara, Jim Diodati, the opening was also attended by the ambassador of Serbia in Ottawa, Dejan Ralevic, and the consul general from Toronto, Nebojsa Tatomir.
