The monument is dedicated to all generations of Serbs in Canada who preserved their culture and traditions for more than a hundred years.

It is installed in Mississauga next to the Church of  All Serbian Saints on Dixie with the blessing of His Grace Bishop Dr. Mitrofan of Canada, and under the patronage of Consul General Vasilij Petković and his wife Dragana and the Ecumenical and educational  organisation of All Serbian Saints in Mississauga. The monument was consecrated by rev. father Dejan Obradović, the elder of the church, and rev. father Miloje.

The author and donor of the project is the Serbian-Canadian artist Ljiljana (Lili) Otašević.

The monument was financed and donated to the Serbian community by Serbian-Canadian businessmen: Dragan Bakoč, Žarko Brestovac, Vićić Vladimir, Lazić Duško, Miletić Zoran, Milićević Dejan, Ostojić Mario, Pavlović Saša and Brestovac Jovan.
