The person who has been issued the decision on placement under medical supervision shall contact the epidemiologist of the territorially competent institute / institute for public health within 24 hours of entering the Republic of Serbia by telephone.

The epidemiologist, in addition to taking identification information from the person, also takes a detailed epidemiological history that includes the following:

- data on residence in the areas where cases of new corona virus disease have been registered (names, dates),
- contact details of people who have had a respiratory infection caused by a new corona virus or unknown cause (place, date),
- information on going to markets where live or dead wild or domestic animals are traded (names, date),
- information on going to health care facilities where there were registered cases of new coronary virus infection, especially if there were illnesses among health care professionals, if known to the supervised person (facility names, date).

The epidemiologist gives the supervised person oral instructions on how to monitor the medical condition and the procedure in the event of symptoms and signs of respiratory infection (fever, runny nose, cough, shortness of breath) - calling the epidemiologist on the phone for further instructions, as well as protection measures.

The epidemiologist gives an oral warning to the person under observation to reduce contact with other persons in the household or at work in case of symptoms and signs of respiratory infection, to immediately put a surgical mask over the mouth and nose, to increase the maintenance of personal hygiene, and to call the phone immediately to the epidemiologist to carry out further diagnostics and therapy.
